“I attend CAA because the atmosphere is encouraging and gives me all the tools I need to gain the knowledge and experience to excel in all aspects of theatre, not just being an actor. CAA has changed my life because it has exposed me to people and experiences that allow me to better myself academically, artistically, and personally.”

Outside of CAA, Scott has been involved in productions with Court Theatre, the Goodman, Victory Gardens, the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, and the Greenhouse Theatre Center.

“To me Dance is like flying: only through dedication, work, and true sacrifice can we truly defy gravity.”

Masad, Dance

“The past three years at CAA have been amazing. Being here has allowed the mature side of my art to emerge in such a way that I will always continue to improve. CAA has also changed my sense of partnerships and how each minute is a chance to see where dance and life intersect. The academic program is filled with teachers who are dedicated to their subject. They know that in order to achieve the best understanding of a subject that they must get insight from their students.”

Outside of CAA, Masad has served as a guest artist at Ballet North in Northbrook and is currently studying with the Joffrey Ballet and Chicago’s Multi-Cultural Dance Center.

“I make art to succeed, fail, please, entertain, grow, learn, and live.”

“CAA has changed my life because instead of dreaming about making film, here at CAA, I am actually doing it. My life is film – 24/7. CAA’s academic program is quite rigorous. The program not only teaches you math and English, but how to have organization and balance in your life. You have to balance your life at home, with academic and arts. CAA is a school of opportunity. To succeed here one must be dedicated, organized, and willing.”

Outside of CAA, Alex works independently on film projects and is an assistant photographer on photo shoots around Chicago.

“Being strong in only one aspect of Musical Theatre doesn’t cut it. You have to be your best at acting, singing, and dance. It's hard work, but it’s the greatest!”

Eleri, Musical Theatre

“I love Musical Theatre and I knew other schools didn't have the programs that CAA does. I was not going to settle for something average when I want Musical Theatre to be my career. I have grown so much, in so many ways. I've improved my art 100%, I am challenged academically, and have met some of the greatest people!”

“I believe that the only way to be the best at something is to be the hardest worker and the most passionate.”

Haley, Music - Voice

“I attend CAA because I love music, but I also believe that academics are very important. The staff at CAA helps me improve my skills and become a well-rounded person. I feel like everyone understands what I am going through and supports me every step of the way. At CAA, everyone is placed into classes that will challenge them without overwhelming them. The faculty work hard to make sure that you understand the lessons, but are sensitive to the needs and obligations of an artist.”

“No one’s art can ever stand on its own. Art must be influenced by an individual’s thoughts and world around them.”

“CAA has changed me by opening my mind to other’s art as well as my own. CAA is not a music school, but an art school. The teachers here are all wonderful and passionate about what they do and the classroom provides a unique experience because students come from many different educational backgrounds.”

Outside of CAA, Ariel is involved with Midwest Young Artist and does numerous competitions.
